As part of the National Night Out initiative, the St. Marks community in Dorchester held their annual Block Party Potluck on July 2005. These yearly block parties have been organized by residents Barry Mullen & Kevin Barry (left) for over 15 years.

Attendees this year included hundreds of people from the community, as well as a number of Boston politicians and candidates, including Mayor Thomas Menino, City Councilor Maureen Feeney, City Councilors-at-Large Maura Hennigan and Stephen Murphy, and City Councilor-at-Large candidates Matt O'Malley and Kevin McCrea.
